As the American economy continues to move sluggishly, African-American households are curtailing their spending in many categories, including food, clothing and basic household items, while investing more in home repair, home entertainment and consumer electronics. In 2002, he assumed leadership for the Entertainment Imaging Distribution Strategic Product Group, along with the division's global supply chain and quality operations. Prior to joining Kodak, he spent 19 years at The Washington Post, most recently serving as Vice President of Marketing. Tompkins has a degree in Economics from Tufts University, where he graduated magna cum laude and also earned an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
