Radio One names Shawneen Thompson Vice President, GM of Philadelphia market
(December 16, 2013) Radio One, Inc. has announced that Shawneen Thompson has been named Vice President and General Manager of its Philadelphia radio stations.
Shawneen joined Radio One in March of 2010 as Station Manager of the St. Louis radio stations and was promoted to Vice President and General Manager on July 20, 2013. After successfully managing the operations in this market, she was tapped to move on to the bigger market of Philadelphia.
Radio One's properties in Philadelphia include WPHI-FM (107.9), WPPZ-FM (103.9) and WRNB-FM (100.3).
"Shawneen's performance in St. Louis has been consistent since she joined us is 2010. She has demonstrated that she can get the job done by growing the top and bottom lines for the company. Her leadership and involvement in the St. Louis community have set new standards in ratings and revenue. I know she will do great things for the company in Philadelphia," said Chris Wegmann, President, Radio Division.
