Black TV Ratings for Week of Nov. 30 - Dec. 6
NBC's 'The Wiz Live!' draws six million black viewers for No.2 spot on Top 25

(December 9, , 2015) NBC is giving thanks that it was able to revitalize its holiday musical hopes with the success of "The Wiz Live." The special drew 11 million viewers overall, six million of whom were black, and delivered two million more than watched last year's Peter Pan.

The holiday schedule did nothing to bounce "Empire" from its perch at the top of the charts, and Fox still outpaced NBC for most watched network status. It claimed 16.5 million viewers for five of its shows on the chart. NBC had 14.5 million across six programs for second place, while CBS was third with 11.3 million for 10 shows.

The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 most popular shows in black households, according to Nielsen,  was up 15 percent from the previous week to 46.6 million.
