Orlena Blanchard appointed TV One's Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing

(December 7, 2011) TV One has named Orlena Blanchard to the newly created position of senior vice president of digital marketing, where she will lead all marketing efforts in support of TV One's website,, TV One's emerging media platforms,  digital properties and TV One's social, SEM and SEO initiatives, and partnerships. Blanchard most recently has been serving as TV One's senior vice president of digital media, where she has overseen content, including the re-launch of, as well as marketing initiatives.

Prior to overseeing TV One's digital media group, which she joined in 2009, Blanchard was vice president of strategic marketing in TV One's Affiliate Sales Department, where she oversaw the development of TV One on Demand and its related affiliate marketing initiatives; managed the strategy and execution of TV One's trade marketing programs, supported the negotiation and related marketing efforts of many of the channel's digital media distribution deals; and managed national account marketing for major distributors. She joined TV One in 2005 from Time Warner Cable's Broadband Division, Road Runner High Speed Online, where she was responsible for broadband content strategy and acquisition.

TV One has also named Scott Perkins senior vice president of creative services. He assuming responsibility for on-air promotions in addition to his previous role in charge of graphics and design. He joined TV One in 2007 as vice president and was promoted to senior vice president of design and graphics in 2009.

Since joining TV One, Perkins has been responsible for creating innovative show packaging and effective graphics packages, spearheaded the look and feel of TV One's print elements, and worked closely with ad sales and affiliate sales on video and collateral materials.

Prior to joining TV One, he was design director for CNN in Atlanta for 10 years, where, as one of two design directors, he was responsible for the creation, enhancement and art direction of design elements, including graphics and sets, for CNN domestic programming, as well as management of a 50-person-staff of assistant art directors, designers and compositors. 

He also collaborated with Promotions and Marketing departments to provide graphics for and assist in the development of new marketing materials and strategies and to ensure consistency across branded materials. Before joining CNN, Perkins was design director/director of art and corporate design at BET for eight years and worked as a design director at two advertising agencies.
