Black Cable TV Ratings for Week Nov. 25 - Dec. 1
'Soul Train Awards' rated No.1 cable show, but VH1 week's top network 

(December 7, 2013) Once again, The Soul Train Awards delivered big time for BET and its sister network Centric. BET alone claimed nearly four million black viewers. According to Nielsen, the Sunday, Dec. 1 original airing was the top cable special for the season, with double-digit gains over the prior year.

BET easily earned the most watched cable network title for the week, with 11 million viewers across seven programs. VH1 placed second with 8.2 million over four shows. Bravo, helped by Real Housewives of Atlanta, was third with 3.8 million viewers.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows in black homes, according to Nielsen, was up 15 percent from the previous week to 35.1 million.
