TV One appoints Linda Finney Senior Vice President of Marketing

(December 5, 2011) TV One has made several appointments to expand and strengthen its senior marketing team under the direction of executive vice president and chief marketing officer Kenetta Bailey.

Veteran cable marketing executive Linda Finney has been named senior vice president of marketing by executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Kenetta Bailey. Finney will head up marketing and media plans for TV One's programming, help create a differentiating market position for the network, and manage the network's agency relationships.  Additionally, Linda will work with TV One's Advertising Sales and Affiliate Sales departments on marketing initiatives to help build TV One's brand value with all constituents.

Finney most recently was vice president of brand strategy and development for TruTV, where she was an integral member of a marketing team that drove one of cable's most successful rebrands, transforming Court TV from a narrowly focused, mid-tier performer to TruTV, a diversified cable network with a top-10 ranking.

She joined Court TV in 1993 as director of marketing, and was vice president of marketing for six years before being named to her most recent position. During her years there, she led a wide range of marketing, branding, and promotional efforts, cultivated partnerships and collaborated across the company to strategically apply multi-million dollar budgets and leverage all company–owned assets to promote programming and demonstrate network value.  Prior to joining Court TV, Finney worked in promotion and production for Lifetime Medical Television.

"The senior Marketing team that we've assembled at TV One has the experience and creativity to make the TV One brand even more relevant to our viewers and more appealing to advertisers when they look to target the sought-after African American viewer in 2012 and beyond," said Kenetta Bailey.

Launched in January 2004, TV One ( serves more than 56 million households, offering a broad range of real-life and entertainment-focused original programming, classic series, movies, and music designed to entertain, inform and inspire a diverse audience of adult black viewers.  In December 2008, the company launched TV One High Def, which now serves 14 million households. TV One is owned by Radio One, the largest radio company that primarily targets African American and urban listeners; and Comcast Corporation, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communications products and services.
