Leslie
Wingo, VP of Sanders/Wingo agency, named to Austin Ad Fed board
The Austin Business
Journal
(December 4, 2007) The Austin Advertising Federation has named nine
advertising industry professionals to its board of directors. Austin Ad
Fed says the new members, some of whom are from outside the area, were
added to "more fully serve the local creative community and accelerate the
group's cultural diversity initiatives."
"We are bringing new talent - some of the region's and even the nation's
best and brightest - on to the board to help us achieve two critically
important objectives," says Pat Niekamp, president of the Austin Ad Fed.
"First, we're working to strengthen Austin's growing reputation as one of
the country's best ad markets - for both people working in the industry as
well as clients looking for agencies. We want to do more to support the
Austin ad community in attracting and retaining both top creative talent
and national accounts."
With the objective of increasing diversity, the Austin Ad Fed named Leslie
Wingo of Sanders Wingo, the seventh largest African American-owned agency
in the country, a board member and vice president of cultural diversity
for the organization.
Austin Ad Fed has 250 members, representing agencies, vendors, mass media,
freelancers, design and film and video agencies.
