Football reigns for Thanksgiving week viewing; CBS gobbles up network race
(November
28, 2007) In black households, there’s nothing like the age-old tradition
of football and Thanksgiving leftovers. More than three million black
viewers grabbed a plate and the remote and watched the Philadelphia Eagles
almost beat the still unbeaten New England Patriots and made the game No.1
for the week. [The week’s No.1 show in white households was “Dancing with
the Stars,” which placed second with black viewers.]
The third most popular show on the top 25 of the week was CBS’s “CSI:
Miami,” which led the network’s domination of the chart with 12 shows. ABC
and NBC tied for second place with four shows each. Fox had four, followed
by the CW with three.
The total number of black viewers watching the top 25 shows during the
third full week of November was 39.5 million, just two percent less than
the previous week.
