Nielsen appoints Lamont Robinson Vice President of Supplier Diversity
(November
16, 2012) Nielsen, a leading global provider of information and
insights, today announced the appointment of Lamont Robinson as vice
president, supplier diversity, effective immediately. In his role,
Robinson will lead the launch of a diversity strategy that focuses on
facilitating relationships between customers, suppliers, Nielsen
associates and the local communities in which the company operates.
Bringing knowledge accumulated during a decade of experience in
accounting, corporate procurement and business development, Robinson
joins Nielsen to continue the development of a world-class supplier
diversity program. Supplier diversity will also include revenue and
income-generating initiatives that involve direct and indirect diverse
supplier relationships and spend; a supplier diversity infrastructure
aligned for growth; collaboration with employee resource groups; and
ongoing educational opportunities for all stakeholders about the
importance of supplier diversity.

Nielsen. "He brings a proven track record of developing, implementing
and enhancing a strategic plan to not only nurture a supplier diversity
program, but to also make uncommon impacts."
Prior to joining Nielsen, Robinson served as senior director of supplier
diversity for Novation in Irving, Texas, where he successfully grew
diverse spend to make a positive impact in communities. Robinson
received the 2010 Corris Boyd Leadership and Diversity award from the
Federation of American Hospitals. Robinson's dedication to supplier
diversity was also recognized when Novation's program was named as one
of the top 101 Supplier Diversity programs by Minority Business News USA
magazine in 2011. During his successful and progressive career in
supplier diversity and purchasing, Robinson also held positions at
health care giants such as Cardinal Health and Abbott Laboratories.
