Nielsen appoints Lamont Robinson Vice President of Supplier Diversity

(November 16, 2012) Nielsen, a leading global provider of information and insights, today announced the appointment of Lamont Robinson as vice president, supplier diversity, effective immediately. In his role, Robinson will lead the launch of a diversity strategy that focuses on facilitating relationships between customers, suppliers, Nielsen associates and the local communities in which the company operates.

Bringing knowledge accumulated during a decade of experience in accounting, corporate procurement and business development, Robinson joins Nielsen to continue the development of a world-class supplier diversity program. Supplier diversity will also include revenue and income-generating initiatives that involve direct and indirect diverse supplier relationships and spend; a supplier diversity infrastructure aligned for growth; collaboration with employee resource groups; and ongoing educational opportunities for all stakeholders about the importance of supplier diversity.

"We are very pleased to welcome Lamont Robinson to the team," said Angela Talton, senior vice president, global diversity and inclusion, Nielsen. "He brings a proven track record of developing, implementing and enhancing a strategic plan to not only nurture a supplier diversity program, but to also make uncommon impacts."

Prior to joining Nielsen, Robinson served as senior director of supplier diversity for Novation in Irving, Texas, where he successfully grew diverse spend to make a positive impact in communities. Robinson received the 2010 Corris Boyd Leadership and Diversity award from the Federation of American Hospitals. Robinson's dedication to supplier diversity was also recognized when Novation's program was named as one of the top 101 Supplier Diversity programs by Minority Business News USA magazine in 2011. During his successful and progressive career in supplier diversity and purchasing, Robinson also held positions at health care giants such as Cardinal Health and Abbott Laboratories.
