The
Week of November 6 – 12
Ed Bradley '60 Minutes' tribute, Emmitt Smith’s 'Dancing' among top 25 (November
16, 2006) While it was no surprise to see NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” in
its usual position as the week’s No.1 show in black households, two
special broadcasts had good showings. CBS’ “60 Minutes” tribute to
correspondent Ed Bradley was the second highest rated program during the
first full week of November. Football legend Emmitt Smith and partner Cheryl Burke attracted 1.6 million black homes as they crowned champions on the finale of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The reality series’ two airings were both in the top five. Another surprise entry was the election night coverage by Fox News which placed eleventh on the list. The overall winning network for the week was CBS, which had eight shows on the Top 25. ABC had six, followed by the CW with five. The total number of black households watching the Top 25 was 35.2 million, an increase of five percent over the previous week.
