Cable TV Ratings for Week of Nov. 5 – 11
VH1’s ‘I Love New York’ rises to the top spot; BET is the week’s top network

(November 15, 2007) Black cable TV viewers shared something in common with white cable TV viewers during the first week of November; both liked “Monday Night Football.” The difference was black households liked VH1’s “I Love New York” more. The reality “romance” competition was the top cable show with African-American, making the NFL match-up second. VH1 also claimed the third and fourth place on the list.

The week’s big winner was BET which posted seven program among the 25 favorite with black households. The second most popular networks were VH1 and TBS (home of “House of Payne”). ESPN had three and MTV, TNT and USA each had two shows.

The total number of African-American homes watching the top 25 list of shows, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 20.2 million, the same total as the previous week.
