R.J. Dale Advertising named finalist for ANA Multicultural Excellence
Awards
(November
4, 2006) Chicago-based agency R.J. Dale Advertising and Public Relations
was recently selected as a finalist for the Association of National
Advertisers’ Multicultural Excellence Awards, for the category of
“Multicultural Campaign with Significant Results.” R.J. Dale entered two
television ads from its Illinois State Lottery’s Road to Riches campaign –
“Thinking” in English language and “Bumper to Bumper” in Spanish. Award
recipients will be named at a special dinner ceremony to be held at the
ANA Multicultural Marketing Conference, November 12-14, 2006 in Santa
Monica, California.
The Association of National Advertisers, Inc. (ANA) initiated the
Multicultural Excellence Awards six years ago to recognize ANA member
companies and marketers that have produced outstanding multicultural
advertising campaigns.
“R.J. Dale Advertising & Public Relations is honored to be selected as a
finalist for the 2006 ANA Multicultural Excellence Awards,” states Bob
Dale (above), CEO and President of R.J. Dale Advertising & Public
Relations. “We feel that the Illinois State Lottery “Road to Riches” Ad
campaign was an excellent entry for the Multicultural Campaign with
Significant Results category. It generated record level sales and player
participation,” continues Dale. “The agency is excited about the
opportunity and we look forward to attending the upcoming conference.”
ANA will present six awards during the ceremony, each judged on creativity
and relevance. The categories are African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Gay
and Lesbian, and General Market. In addition, there will be an optional
award category to honor a “Multicultural Campaign with Significant
Results.” The Judging panel consisted of Client-side Marketers, ANA
members, and the media. A portion of the proceeds collected from the
awards submission fees will be used to help fund scholarships for
high-potential multicultural students who plan to pursue careers in
advertising and/or marketing.

'Buying Power' report shows black consumers spending more on home life
As the American economy continues to move sluggishly,
African-American households are curtailing their spending in many
categories, including food, clothing and basic household items, while
investing more in home repair, home entertainment and consumer
electronics. Although they are trimming back, black consumers are still
spending more than their white counterparts on most of these products.
