Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Oct. 31 - Nov. 6
BET gives football a run for its money with 'Black Girls Rock!' special

(November 10, 2011) The BET special "Black Girls Rock!" came this close to capturing the title of No.1 cable show for the first week of November. The program attracted nearly two million black viewers and just missed beating ESPN's black audience for the Chargers vs. Chiefs match-up on "Monday Night Football."

Disney was the most viewed cable network in black homes, with 7.2 million catching seven shows. BET was second among the networks with 6.5 million tuning in six of its charted programs. VH1 took third at 3.7 million for four shows.

The total audience for the Top 25 cable shows was 27.6 million, according to Nielsen, which is an 11 percent jump from the previous week's total.
