Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Oct. 29 - Nov. 4
Reality shows and sports were Black cable viewers key diversions before
election
(November 8, 2012) In the week before President Obama's re-election,
Black cable viewers focused heavily on sports and reality programming.
The NBA's match-up between the Boston Celtics and the reigning champions
Miami Heat took the No.1 spot on the Top 25 cable list, posting nearly
2.5 million Black viewers.
VH1 nudged back into the most watched cable network category as folks
waited for the election coverage coming this week. VH1 had 6.5 million
viewers across four shows. BET was close behind with 5.7 million for
five of its programs. ESPN represented sports among the most watched
shows with 4.5 million watching three of its games.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 most popular cable shows
in Black households, according to Nielsen, was 32 million, or 27% more
than in the previous week.
