Fox stations to carry programming from Bounce TV, upping U.S. coverage to 70%

(November 3, 2011) FOX Television Stations, in partnership with Bounce TV, to premiere FTS' first digital over the air network on FOX-owned MyNetwork TV sub channels, including stations in New York and Los Angeles, announced Jack Abernethy, CEO, FOX Television Stations.

In making the announcement, Abernethy stated, "We are pleased to allocate our airwaves to provide focused and unique content with an accomplished partner that has a solid business model."

Bounce TV will provide FTS stations mainstream programming designed for African Americans ages 25-54. The lineup includes a mix of theatrical motion pictures, live sporting events, documentaries, specials, inspirational faith-based programs, off-net series, original programming and more. Bounce TV launched at the end of September on a number of local stations (not owned by FOX) is the nation's first-ever over the air broadcast television network designed for African Americans.

"With the addition of these FOX markets, Bounce TV will already cover more than 70% of African American households in the United States. We are very grateful to the FOX Television Stations group for enabling Bounce TV to reach our grossly underserved African American community with targeted, culturally relevant and entertaining programming," said Martin Luther King III, member of Bounce TV's founding group and board of directors. "By launching Bounce TV as a free, over-the-air broadcast network, FOX is ensuring that viewers stay connected to the community without being saddled by additional pay TV financial burdens. We will continue to make the pioneering Bounce TV a popular destination and brand for all Americans."

The FOX Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 27 stations in 18 markets and covering nearly 37.21% of U.S. television homes. This includes six duopolies in the top 10 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington, D.C. and Houston; as well as duopolies in Minneapolis, Phoenix and Orlando.
