Black TV Ratings for Week of October 22 - 28
Black TV viewers turning their attention more to politics than the usual programming

(October 30, 2012) The final week of October was like the two that preceded it; politics, sports and talent competition were the ratings winners. Sports took the first four spots on the Top 25 chart, which included the final game of the World Series.

The third and final Presidential debate on Monday, Oct. 22nd had more Black viewers watching on cable than the TV networks. The post-debate shows on network TV had 2.7 million Black viewers, compared to cable’s 3.1 million. The overall audience for the debate was 65 million, of which approximately 10 million were Black viewers.

The week’s most watched TV network was again NBC, with 12.1 million across seven shows. CBS was back in second with 9.1 million for 10 of its shows. ABC repeated in third at 5.1 million for five shows.

Nielsen recorded 31.4 million viewers watching the Top 25 shows in Black households, a 31% drop from the previous week.
