‘CSI: Miami’ week’s most popular show with black viewers; CBS is network
winner
(October
30, 2007) Black viewers showed very different preferences again in their
TV viewing habits during the fourth week of October. CBS’s dominance over
the top 25 most popular shows with African-Americans was headed by “CSI:
Miami,” which was number ten overall among all Nielsen measured
households. The World Series contest between Boston and Colorado didn’t
excite most black TV watchers. Only Game 4 placed among black’s favorite
shows, while Games 1, 2 and 4 were top ten favorites in white homes.
CBS was the runaway winning network, with 12 shows claiming a place on the
top 25. Fox and ABC posted four winners. The CW network had three,
followed by NBC with one.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 programs,
according to Nielsen Media Research, was 30.6 million. That’s a slight
increase over the previous week’s total of 30.1 million.
