URBT in discussions with Nielsen for national audience measurement (October 27, 2005) Urban Television Network Corporation announced it is in discussions with Nielsen Media Research regarding national measurement of its network. The companies are working together to reach a formal agreement by the end of the fourth quarter. Nielsen has produced an analysis for the week ending July 24, 2005 using a station list URBT provided that included its current and potential future affiliated stations that would carry its programming. Based on that analysis Nielsen estimated that URBT's coverage would be 54% of US households. "Nielsen Media Research rated programming is an important part of the extreme makeover of our company. It is important for our program suppliers and our growing affiliate base," says Jacob R. Miles III, CEO and Chairman of Urban Television Network Corporation. "We are excited about developing a long term relationship that helps in the measurement of our diverse national viewing audience." "We are delighted to be working with Jacob Miles' great team at URBT," said Kevin Svenningsen, senior vice president, sales and marketing, for Nielsen Media Research. "We are confident that we will soon welcome URTB as a national client." Fort Worth, Texas based Urban Television Network Corporation is a composed of broadcast TV affiliates across the country that air programming supplied by the network via satellite transmission.
