Gary Bernstein named president of programming for Syndication One

(October 24, 2007) Radio One and REACH Media have joined forces to bring aboard syndication visionary, Gary Bernstein, to run and expand Syndication One, effective immediately. This fast-developing network is home to shows like: The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, The Al Sharpton Show, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, CoCo Brother's Spirit of Hip Hop program, and other signed high-profile talent soon to be announced.

Bernstein's mission is to work directly with Alfred Liggins and David Kantor to expand REACH Media and Radio One's syndication infrastructure through innovative analog and digital cross platform content.

"When the decision was made to build a real top-notch network, there was only one name on my list," said Radio One CEO, Alfred Liggins. "Gary Bernstein is simply the best in the business at syndication. There is nobody that works harder and achieves better results. We're pleased to add Bernstein to the Radio One and Reach families."

For 10 years, Gary Bernstein was the leader of Superadio Networks, following more than a decade of success as the top billing ad executive in the Boston radio market. Bernstein established and grew many successful brands in syndication today including: The Wendy Williams Experience, The BeBe Winans Radio Show, The Russ Parr Morning Show, The Baka Boyz Mastermix, The Donnie McClurkin Show, Walt "Baby" Love's Gospel Traxx, Open House Party and the world's largest mix show network (Urban Mixx -- Slam Jam, Kool Jam, Mini Mixx etc.). With a small Independent company, Bernstein was first to have 10 programs airing simultaneously in New York City.

"Gary Bernstein is unquestionably one of the real visionaries and leaders in radio syndication," adds REACH Media CEO David Kantor. "He possesses a rare combination of sales, marketing, and programming savvy that has enabled him to achieve monumental results."

"This is truly a gigantic opportunity to enhance, and create some significant content. I plan to build a dedicated staff and utilize the considerable assets of Radio One, Reach Media, TV One, Giant Magazine and other strategic media partners to innovate multi-media content brands primarily targeting African Americans but also expanding into other formats and areas," said Bernstein. "I am excited to be working with Alfred, David, Barry Mayo, Jay Stevens, Zemira Jones as well as the folks at TV-One and Giant."

Syndication One will have offices in Boston, New York, and Dallas.
