Ratings for Week of Oct. 8 - 14
CBS’s ‘60 Minutes’ goes to No.1 spot thanks to Clarence Thomas interview
(October
9, 2007) In the past CBS has scored with black households by featuring
profiles on African-American athletes and entertainers. Its interview last
week with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas about his recently
released autobiography took the news program to No. 1 of the top 25 most
popular shows in black homes.
The CW’s comedy, “The Game,” held on the second place thanks to a strong
lead in from “Girlfriends.” NBC’s “Monday Night Football” posted a third
place finish.
CBS, far and away the winning network for the second week in October,
posted 11 shows on the top 25 chart. ABC followed with five, NBC had four,
The CW three and Fox two.
The total number of black households watching the top 25 shows, according
to Nielsen Media Research, was 30.1 million, or just two percent fewer
than in the previous week.
