Black TV Ratings for Week of Sept. 30 - Oct. 6
'Scandal' sacks 'Sunday Night Football,' but NBC grabs most watched network title

(October 12, 2013) The Thursday, Oct. 3 airing of ABC's "Scandal" beat perennial No.1 -- NBC's "Sunday Night Football," for the No.1 show in black households during the first week of October. With four and a half million viewers, Olivia Pope soundly sacked the competition, and brought ABC as a whole with her.

The most watched TV network among the Top 25 shows was NBC, which notched 14.8 million viewers for nine shows. ABC followed in second place with 11.3 million across five shows. CBS, in an unheard of third place position, had 10.4 million for eight charted shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 shows in black homes, according to Nielsen, was up seven percent over the previous week to 40.8 million.
