Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of October 3 - 9
Disney dominates cable's Top 25 for black viewers with big weekend lineup

(October 13, 2011) Disney has practically taken over the Top 25 cable chart for black viewers by offering a strong weekend block of shows that is drawing young viewers. By tapping into the void of Friday-Sunday offerings for younger audiences, Disney is drawing new fans by the millions.

Easily the most watched cable network of the week, Disney totaled 15.3 million viewers for 16 of its shows. The next closest network was USA, which had 2.1 million for two shows, and ESPN, which claimed two million for its No.1 rated NFL game.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows in black homes during the first week of October was down two percent from the previous week to 25.3 million.
