Black TV Ratings for Week of September 23 - 29
NBC overtakes CBS on Top 25 chart of most popular shows with black viewers

(October 6, 2013) NBC was able to overtake perennial the Top 25's leading network, CBS during the last week of September. Some of CBS' consistent winning shows with black viewers, like The Good Wife and The Mentalist failed to make the chart. Other newcomers like ABC's Marvel Agents and Fox's Sleepy Hallow further added to the competition.

NBC had 14.9 million black viewers for eight of its shows to take week's most watched network title. CBS was a rare second with 9.1 million across seven shows. Fox was third with 7.2 million for its five charted shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 most popular shows in black homes, according to Nielsen, was up 24 percent over the previous week's 30.5 million to 38.1 million.
