Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of Sept. 26 - Oct. 2
Cable's Top 25 holds on to black viewers as competitive TV season kicks
off
(October
6, 2011) Younger viewers in black households are maintaining their control
over what gets watched. Even at the height of football season, most of the
week's Top 25 most popular cable shows are outside of adult favorites.
Disney significantly improved its performance over the previous week, with
7.5 million tuning to eight of its shows. ESPN was took second place with
just three shows attracting 4.7 million. VH1 remained in third place in a
close call with 4.5 million tuning in four programs.
The total audience for the Top 25 cable shows had a 10 percent boost over
the previous week, to claim 26.1 million viewers, according to Nielsen
data.
