BET J airs a behind-the-scenes look at the Bronner Brothers Hair Show

(September 28, 2007) BET J rolls out a lineup of fresh, new original shows this fall, including a behind-the-scenes snapshot of the African-American hair extravaganza: the Bronner Brothers 60th Hair Battle & Barber Battle Competition. On Wednesday, October 3 at 8:00 p.m./5:00 p.m. ET/PT, tune in to the BET J network premiere of Tears, Shears & Beauty, a heated but funny reality show granting viewers an inside look into competition at the world’s largest African-American hair exposition.

Since 1947, the legacy of brothers, Nathaniel and Arthur Bronner, has lived on as their famed international hair show attracts thousands of hair technicians each and every year to Atlanta, Georgia. Stylists travel from across the world to learn the latest in hair care, styling, and fashion through onsite classes, seminars and presentations.

Up and coming hair artists get a unique opportunity to hone their skills, plus receive hands on experience from some of the industry's very best. Major hair companies and small businesses also come to showcase their latest products during the tradeshow, while beautiful models are there to be sculpted and made into breathtaking works of fashion.

A colorful cast of hair-battling hopefuls ride an emotional roller coaster, dealing with a spectrum of personalities and dodging contest pitfalls, as they strive to create the ultimate, innovative hairstyle and win the $20,000 grand prize. The October 3rd premiere will feature Derek J., Freddie J., Jason Griggers, and Tyree "The Universal Stylist" The first episode will re-air on Thursday, October 4 at 2:30 p.m.; Friday, October 5 at 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 7 at 4:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.
