Black TV Ratings for Week of September 24 - 30
Black households add freshmen TV network shows to their viewing habits
(October 1, 2012) With the latest round of the TV networks' season premieres airing this past week, Black viewers showed a willingness to give them a try. CBS' "Vegas" and "Elementary" made the Top 25, but NBC's "Revolution" and "Go On" slide off the chart after the previous week's strong showing. ABC's "Scandal" returned for its second season with a strong debut watched by 1.8 million Black viewers.
NBC again held on to its most watched TV network status with 12.9 million catching six of its top-rated shows. Second place CBS posted 10 million viewers for seven programs, with ABC closely behind in third with 9.5 million also for seven shows.
The total number of viewers watching the Top 25 most popular shows in Black households, according to Nielsen, was 40.5 million -- a whopping 32 percent increase over the previous week.
