NAMIC announces newly elected members of the board of directors

(October 2, 2012) NAMIC, the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications, announced newly elected members of its Board of Directors at its 26th Annual Conference on September 11, 2012.  Newly elected Board members will begin their terms on January 1, 2013.

The new Executive Committee members are: Chair - Michael D. Armstrong, senior vice president and general manager, BET International & Paramount Channel, Viacom International Media Networks; Vice Chair - Donna Rattley Washington, regional vice president, Government & Regulatory Affairs, Comcast; Secretary - Jaime Rodriguez, vice president, Business Affairs, Univision Communications; and, Treasurer - Mark Depietro, vice president, Strategy and Business Development, Motorola.  NAMIC's current Board Chair, Raymond Gutierrez, executive vice president, Human Resources, CBS Television Networks, will serve as Immediate Past Chair.

"We are extremely excited about the new Executive Committee leadership and applaud outgoing Board Chair, Raymond Gutierrez, for his exceptional vision and work for NAMIC during his term," said Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee, NAMIC's president and chief executive officer. 

Newly elected members to the national Board of Directors include: Jennifer Chun, senior vice president, Content Acquisition, Time Warner Cable; Michael Cooper, vice president, Distribution Marketing, FOX Networks Group; Oliver Dizon, senior vice president, Asset Management, ESPN Customer Marketing & Sales; Noni Ellison Southall, senior counsel, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.; Janet Parker, group vice president, Human Resources, Time Warner Cable; Kevin Stephens, senior vice president, Commercial & Advertising Operations, Suddenlink Communications; Michelle Strong, vice president, National Accounts, A+E Networks; and Mark Walton, executive vice president, Sales & Marketing, The Africa Channel. 

"These individuals will also be a tremendous addition to our Board as NAMIC strives to mirror the diversity of our national membership," shared Dr. Turner-Lee.
