Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of September 19 - 25
Cable's Top 25 holds on to black viewers as competitive TV season kicks off

(September 15, 2011) With the exception on its sports programming, this the time of year that most of cable's audience migrates back to TV networks as new shows make their debut. The exodus among black viewers has slowed, thanks to mostly younger viewers.

The Disney Channel was the most watched cable network on the Top 25, with 5.8 million tuning in seven of its shows. TBS followed closely with 5.1 million for five of its comedies. VH1 was a distant third with 3.7 million for four shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable favorites in black homes, according to Nielsen, was down three percent to 23.6 million.
