'ABC performs two-step with 'Dancing' and 'Grey’s Anatomy' topping the week

(September 28, 2006) ABC was able to give football a one-two punch and capture the top two spots on the list of 25 most popular shows among black households. “Dancing With the Stars” had 1.8 million homes for first place and “Grey’s Anatomy” pulled in 1.7 million for second.

In the battle of the sexes between favorite shows for women and men, guys had to settle for second and third place during the third week of September. "CSI: Miami" was CBS’ top performer in third place. NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” finished fourth with about 650,000 fewer black homes watching than the previous week.

The new CW network claimed only one show, “America’s Next Top Model,” on the Top 25. Overall, CBS was the big network winner with eight shows, ABC followed with seven, Fox had five, and NBC posted four. The total number of black households watching the the Top 25 was 32.7 million, an 11 percent increase over the previous week.
