TV One brings radio
personality Michael Baisden to primetime starting Oct. 7th

25, 2007) Best-selling author and the top-rated “Bad Boy of Radio,”
Michael Baisden comes to television with a new primetime talk/variety
series, “Baisden After Dark,” which premieres Sunday, October 7 from
10-11 PM/ET, with original episodes airing weekly in the same time slot.Targeted to a “grown and sexy” audience, the show explores a wide range of provocative topics with an eclectic mix of celebrity and special guests from the worlds of entertainment, politics, sports and music. Baisden opens each show with a monologue, followed by a celebrity roundtable discussion of one hot topic, ranging from the bold and sexy, to the sublimely serious. Baisden keeps it lively and engaging by bringing the studio audience into the discussion. Additional features include a musical and/or comedy guest performance, as well as input from Baisden’s “Man on the Street,” comedian George Wilborn, his radio co-hort and grand-prize winner of TV One’s “Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes?” comedy competition. The show also boasts a stellar R&B band, with the legendary funkmaster Morris Day (“Jungle Love”) serving as bandleader and sidekick. The premiere episode features a discussion with relationship expert Dr. Michelle Callahan and the topic is “Are men doing their job in the bedroom?” Singer Brian McKnight is musical guest. The wide variety of topics explored during the 13-episode series include interracial dating; why men/women cheat; plastic surgery and black images in film and television. Guests include actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, ESSENCE magazine editor-in-chief Angela Burt-Murray, comedian Bill Bellamy, host of TV One series"Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes?" and author/video vixen Karrine Steffans. Musical guests will include Angie Stone; Musiq Soulchild, Howard Hewett, Johnny Gill, Tank and the great Betty Wright, to name just a few. “TV One is excited to be bringing radio superstar Michael Baisden to television,” said TV One Executive Vice President of Programming and Production Rose Catherine Pinkney. “We think the provocative yet universal topics he addresses coupled with his energy and enthusiasm will really resonate with our viewers.” Additional airings of “Baisden After Dark” will be Sunday nights at 1AM, Mondays at 10PM & 1AM, and Saturdays at 11PM (all times ET). Prolific talent Baisden is a best-selling author, motivational speaker and host of his own nationally-syndicated radio program, “Love, Lust and Lies,” which airs on the ABC Radio Network. Morris Day, best-known for his iconic 80’s hits Jungle Love and The Bird, has appeared in numerous films, including the cult sensation “Purple Rain” and the Richard Pryor comedy “Moving.” Day’s television credits include “227,” “Eve” and “Da Boom Crew.” “Baisden After Dark” is a FarCor Studios Production. Ralph Farquhar, Dwayne Corbitt and Michael Baisden are executive producers. Carl Craig and Rikki Hughes are producers. Kevin Lightbourne directs.
