TV Ratings for Week of Sept. 17 - 23
Fox’s ‘K-Ville’ has good debut showing; CBS and Fox share top network billing

(September 25, 2007) The first of TV’s newest offerings to score big with black households is the Fox network’s police drama, “K-Ville.” The crime drama set in New Orleans pulled a 12.3 share and 1.6 million households in its premiere. Combined with the encore airing, the Monday show starring Anthony Anderson attracted nearly 2.7 million black homes.

Thanks in part to “K-Ville,” Fox improved its overall performance on the top 25 most popular shows with black viewers and shared the week’s top network honors with CBS. Both had eight entries on the chart. NBC had five shows, followed by CW’s three and ABC’s single winner.

The total number of black households watching the top 25 shows for the third week of September, according to Nielsen Media Research, was 26.9 million. That represents a 22 percent increase over the previous week’s
total of 22 million.
