Johnson Publishing and out-of-home media firm Titan in partner agreement

(September 24, 2012) Johnson Publishing Co. has reached an exclusive partnership agreement with media company Titan on advertising sales and out-of-home, digital and mobile platforms.

Titan is the largest vendor of transit out-of-home advertising in the U.S., with an array of diverse media that reaches city centers and the communities that surround them. Titan's national, regional and local sales teams will continue to be the primary sales force for the company's portfolio, but Titan believes the JPC sales team will bring in incremental advertisers who have never used out-of-home before. In addition, JPC will utilize access to Titan media to build 360-degree solutions for its advertisers.

Titan holds the exclusive rights to sell advertising across the CTA and PACE in Chicago. According to the latest Scarborough research, 35.7% of CTA riders are African American, and CTA exterior bus media reaches 96.4% of the same community every month.

"Johnson Publishing Company is a great organization for us to be associated with," said Don Allman, President and CEO of Titan. "We are confident that their positioning of our media to African American businesses will help maximize revenue for the Transit Authorities we represent, and help these advertisers strengthen their brands and find new customers. There will be a strong Chicago emphasis but we are also excited about the benefits JPC's national sales team will bring to us across the country."

Founded in 1942 by John H. Johnson, Johnson Publishing Company is the publisher of EBONY and JET magazines and owner of Fashion Fair Cosmetics, a global prestige cosmetic brand for people of color. JPC is committed to celebrating the vibrancy of Black culture by operating trusted brands and delivering products of the highest quality. JPC has had an unparalleled impact on Black America, showcasing this community for 67 years.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Titan," said Desiree Rogers, CEO Johnson Publishing Company. " We are now able to offer our clients even more reach and impact, both on a local and a national scale. In addition to print, our clients can now take advantage of Titan's out-of-home, digital out-of-home and mobile products."

Titan provides sales, marketing, creative, research and maintenance of advertising on bus, rail, bulletins, telephone kiosks, street banners, street furniture and airports. It also leads the way in the development and successful introduction of market leading digital out-of-home and mobile platforms. Titan furnishes national and local clients with creative media solutions in the North America's top markets including Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, New Jersey, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Charlotte, Westchester and Toronto.
