Ratings for Week of Sept. 12-18
NBC stays No.1 overall with black TV viewers thanks to popularity of NFL
football
(September 22, 2011) CBS pulled off a No.1 victory on the Top 25 chart of
most watched shows in black households with its Sunday night NFL match-up.
More than six million tuned and provided a solid lead-in for 60 Minutes.
But the title of most watched network of the week in black homes was NBC,
thanks also to the NFL. It had 17 million viewers for seven shows. CBS was
second with 15.6 million for 11 programs on the chart. ABC was a distant
third, attracting only 3.6 million for four shows.
Total viewing for the Top 25 shows dropped nearly 17 percent to 39.1
million, according to Nielsen data.
