Black TV Ratings for Week of September 9 - 15
Black viewing audience for 'Sunday Night Football' drops nearly 30% from last week

(September 19, 2013) As usual, football was the big TV ratings winner for the second week of September, but it lost a about 30 percent of black viewers from the previous week. With No.1 Sunday Night Football down 700,000-plus from last week, questions arise on whether viewers, especially those 18-49, are losing interest. And what does this drop say about the popularity of Fantasy Football and its ability to hold black fans?

Despite the drop in football viewers, NBC was the still the week's most watched network. It had 10.8 million viewers across six shows. CBS improved from 7.7 million to 9.5 million for 11 shows. Fox was in third with 4.2 million with four shows.

Nielsen recorded a total of 27 million viewers for all of the Top 25 shows in black households. That is a 24 percent decline from the previous week's total.
