Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of September 10 - 16
Oprah Winfrey Network posts three shows on the Top 25 cable chart

(September 19, 2012) Since the Oprah Winfrey Network announced a few months ago that it would produce shows appealing to Black audiences to boost its overall ratings, the network has found it difficult to produce consistent winners. The tide may be turning with "Iyanla, Fix My Life," "Oprah's Next Chapter" and reality show "Sweetie Pies." The debut of Iyanla Vanzant's weekend advice show was OWN's best finisher at No.6 with 1.3 million viewers, OWN's best showing in weeks. In fact, OWN was the only network on the Top 25 cable chart with winning shows on Friday and Saturday.

VH1 was the most watched cable network among the Top 25 with 5.5 million viewers across five shows. OWN was the second most network on the chart with 4.3 million for four programs. ESPN notched third place and No.1 and 2 on the chart with 3.7 million for NFL games.

The total number of viewers for all of the Top 25 shows, according Nielsen, was 25.3 million. That was down 32 percent from last week's total, which included the highly popular Democratic Convention.
