Black TV Ratings for Week of September 10 - 16
Viewers seem comfortable with same old thing from TV's new fall season

(September 18, 2012) Just one week in on the official start of the new fall TV season and Black viewers are getting comfortable with the new offerings and schedule, and the results look a lot like last season.

Black households don't have much new to look forward to that features African-American cast members, so it's back to football and the competition shows. NFL-related programming took the top spots on the Top 25 for the second week of September. NBC's debut of "Go On" did make the Top 25 with Black viewers.

NBC took a rare first place in the most watched TV network category. It had 12 million viewers across 10 of its shows. CBS was second with 5.6 million for six programs. Fox settled for third with 5.4 million for five shows.

The total number of those watching the Top 25, according to Nielsen, was down 10 percent from the previous week to 28.6 million.
