BET Networks names Eddie Hill Senior Vice President, Consumer Marketing

(September 13, 2011) BET Networks, the leading provider of entertainment for the African-American audience and consumers of Black culture globally, has named marketing veteran Eddie Hill as Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing.  Hill, who most recently led WWE's consumer marketing efforts, will be responsible for all facets of the consumer marketing strategy for both BET and CENTRIC across all platforms.  He will report directly to Vicky Free, Executive Vice President of Marketing of BET Networks and will be based in New York.

Hill comes to BET Networks with nearly two decades of consumer marketing and brand strategy experience, most recently from WWE.  At WWE, he led the consumer marketing, affiliate sales and marketing, network marketing and its research teams for the global brand.

"Eddie brings invaluable experience in marketing a brand to a targeted consumer base and we're thrilled he has decided to join the BET Networks family," said Vicky Free, EVP of Marketing of BET Networks. "Coupled with our SVP and Executive Creative Director, Kendrick Reid, our company is well positioned to create a deeper connection with our audience and communicate our reinvigorated brand."

Prior to WWE, Hill was Vice President and Head of Advertising & Global Agency Management at American Express where he served as the brand steward for the company. Before that, Hill was Vice President of Marketing at Nickelodeon and held other positions at ESPN, the Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Studios' Buena Vista Pictures. Hill was named a Walter Kaitz Fellow and was also awarded the 2007 NAMIC Excellence in Multicultural Marketing Award. Eddie Hill received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Georgetown University and an M.B.A from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
