Black TV Ratings for Week of September 3 - 9
Democratic Convention and football push up Black TV viewership by over 80%

(September 11, 2012) Politics and football are the two big sports of this Fall, and Black TV households were fully engaged in both last week. The Democratic Convention had its biggest night on Thursday, Sept. 6th when President Obama spoke, and NBC had the most viewers among the TV networks. [The majority of Black viewers tuned in on cable.] NBC also had a sweep of the Top 25's seven highest rated shows of the week.

NBC was the runaway winner of the most watched TV network of the week, with a whopping 18.6 million viewers across nine programs. Fox was a distant second among the networks with six million for seven shows. CBS, in a rare third place finish among the Top 25, posted 4.2 million viewers for five shows.

Nielsen recorded a total of 32.2 million viewers for the Top 25 most popular shows in Black households. That's an 82 percent increase over the previous week's total.
