BET surges in viewership with the week's No.1 show, and most watched network title

(September 4, 2013)  Summer time is prime time for cable, and black viewers have boosted their favorite shows to record ratings. In the battle for overall audience, BET was able to claim another victory by having the No.1 cable show, The Game, top two million viewers during the last week of August.

BET also walked away with the distinction of most watched cable network by black households, with 9.6 million viewers and seven shows on the Top 25 chart. VH1 followed with 5.9 million across four shows, while USA trailed with 2.9 million for three shows.

Nielsen said there were 27.6 million viewers for the Top 25 shows among black viewers. That's a drop of six percent from the pervious week.
