Media vet Lynn Norment to receive 'Freeing The Human Spirit' Award at Union League Club

(August 26, 2013) Veteran journalist and media exec, Lynn Norment, will be honored with the "Freeing the Human Spirit" Award at the Union League Club, 65 W. Jackson in downtown Chicago on Wednesday Sept. 11 at 5:30. The recognition comes from the social services agency, Habilitative Systems Inc. where Norment chairs the fundraising committee.

"Lynn has been a tremendous asset to HSI," says Donald J. Dew, the agency's president and CEO.  "As chair of our Fundraising Committee, her passionate and committed leadership has helped raise more than one million dollars in unrestricted funds and media sponsorships. Countless entertainers and media personalities have joined the HSI family because of Lynn's efforts. She truly gives from the heart and fully embodies our theme 'Freeing the Human Spirit.'"

Ms. Norment, a nationally respected writer and editor who worked for Ebony Magazine for decades, and was head of public relations for the Carol H., Williams agency, is now CEO of her own firm, Lynn Norment Media based in Chicago.

Tickets to the VIP reception are $60. For more information call 773-854-8313.
