(August 20, 2011) Veteran publishing executive, Karen L.E. Weddington, has been named Vice President of Sales by Target Market News effective immediately. She will be responsible for overseeing advertising sales for the company's media properties and sponsorships for its events.
"We are thrilled to have Karen join the Target Market News team," said Ken Smikle, president of the company. "She has extensive experience in print, broadcast and digital sales, and has negotiated countless successful opportunities for advertisers and marketers. Her skills will be an important asset as we grow our properties and platforms to the next level."
Weddington's initial focus will be on building advertising support for Black Business Chicago, the monthly news publication covering the city's black-owned companies and business executives.
