Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of August 3 - 9
'Haves & Have Nots' draws twice as many black viewers as Republican Presidential debate

(August 12, 2015) Not that many people would be surprised, but Oprah's network beat out Donald Trump and Republican Presidential Debate by 2-to-1. The Tyler Perry drama "The Haves and the Have Nots" remained No.1 for the fourth consecutive week, with 2.8 million black viewers, while the Fox News Channel only attracted 1.4 million curiosity seekers.

VH1 was again the most watched cable network among black viewers, with 7.9 million watching six of its show on the Top 25 chart. OWN took second place with 4.4 million watching three of its programs. BET was third with 3.8 million across four shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows in black households, according to Nielsen, was 26.4 million.
