Black TV Ratings for Week of August 8 - 14
As summer line-ups cool, audience number get warmer for TV networks

(August 18, 2011) In a preview of the fall that awaits the TV networks, football on the Fox network drew the biggest share of audience for the second week of August. As kids return to school, return of the remote control goes to adults and more shows are able to attract at least a million black viewers.

Football easily gave Fox the most watched TV network title, with 10.8 million tuning in 11 of its shows on the Top 25. CBS in a rare No.2 position had 7.6 million for nine shows. NBC sank to third with 3.4 million across four programs.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 shows in black households, according to Nielsen, was 22.7 million, representing an increase of just one percent from the previous week.
