Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of July 30 - Aug. 5
VH1
continues its hold over the Top 25 even as ratings show a dip in viewers
(August 8, 2012) Even though the last Monday in July was a very
competitive night for Black viewers' attention, VH1 took on all comers
and won. "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" notched an even bigger audience than
the Summer Olympics that night (2.8 million vs. 2.4 million), and it was
followed by "Single Ladies" which performed almost as well.
VH1 was the most watched cable network of the week in Black households,
with 6.6 million for three of its Top 25 shows. Disney grabbed 5.4
million young viewers for seven of its shows. TBS claimed 4.2 million
across four programs.
Nielsen reported that the total 26.5 million viewers watched all of the
Top 25 cable shows, which five percent less than the previous week.
