Black TV Ratings for Week of July 29 - Aug. 4
NBC's pre-season football knocks CBS out of the week's No.1 position

(August 6, 2013) CBS' summer hit, "Under The Dome" got bounced from its position at the head of the Top 25 chart by the return of everyone's favorite TV diversion -- football. NBC captured the No.1 spot with 1.8 million black viewers for a pre-season NFL game. The number of shows claiming at least one million black viewers went from one to five.

CBS held on to the title of the week's favorite network in black households. It had a significant jump from last week with 9.4 million viewers across 12 shows. NBC followed in second with 6.6 million for six programs. ABC was third with 3.3 million for five shows.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 TV shows in black homes, according to Nielsen, was up 1.6 percent to 20.9 million.
