Black Cable TV Ratings for Week of July 23 - 29
'Love and Hip Hop' gives VH1 Olympic-sized audience, most watched network title

(August 1, 2012) As many Black viewers tuned in the opening ceremony of the Olympics as watched VH1's "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" last week. The three million-plus viewers for the reality show is a 26 percent increase over last week.

VH1 took the top three spots on the Top 25 cable favorites chart, and easily captured the title of most watched cable network for the last week of July with 8.1 million tuning in four of its shows. BET was the No.2 cable net with 5.8 million across five shows. Disney was third carrying 5.7 million for seven programs.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 cable shows, according to Nielsen, was up eight percent over the previous week to 30.2 million.
