Veteran news executive Camille Edwards named Vice President of News at
WABC-TV
(July
31, 2012) ABC/Channel 7 in New York has appointed Camille Edwards to
Vice President of News. Edwards, who has more than 20 years experience
in journalism and news management, will oversee all of the station's
platforms, including online and Taxi TV, and more than 40 hours of live
programming. "Camille Edwards' proven commitment to excellence in local TV news, along with her innovative work expanding news content to new-media platforms, made her the ideal choice for the top news post at WABC-TV," Dave Davis, WABC president and general manager, says. "We're all proud to welcome Camille back to the ABC Owned Television Stations Group and look forward to her continuing success ahead at WABC-TV." Most recently Edwards served as Vice President of News at NBC-owned WRC-TV. Before that she was News Director at NBC's WMAQ in Chicago from 2003-2008. She was assistant news director at WPVI Philadelphia from 1997 to 2003, and executive producer at WLS Chicago from 1993 to 1997.
