Black Cable TV Ratings for Week  July 15 - 21
BET beats VH1 in a tight race to grab black households for summer line-ups

(July 24, 2013) While cable shows are giving TV networks the summer blues, cable networks are in a battle for ratings among themselves. That means black viewers canít be taken for granted, since on any given night they represent the margin of success. BET and VH1 court similar demographics, but avoid head-to-head competition on their more popular shows, The Game and Love & Hip Hop respectively.

BET again earned the title of the most watched cable network among the Top 25 for the third week of July. BET had 8.9 viewers for seven of its shows. Disney took second place with 8.4 million for eight shows. VH1 came in third with 6.7 million across three shows.

The total number of viewers fro the Top 25, according to Nielsen, was up five percent from the previous week to 31.3 million.
