Black TV Ratings for Week of July 16 - 22
'Person of Interest' returns to No.1 TV show in black households
(July 24, 2012) It might be summer and Black TV viewers may be spending more hours watching cable programs than TV offering. They're getting better acquainted with shows they missed, and CBS' "Person of Interest" is apparently one of those shows.
Earlier in the season CBS saw a bump in interest when the show's co-star, Taraji P. Henson caused a social media stir by wondering out loud on the Internet why the network wasn't marketing her presence on the series. While the show is drawing just under a million Black viewers, fans may be finding they like what they missed.
CBS was the week's most viewed network, pulling 7.5 million across 11 shows. The No.2 network was ABC with 4.9 million for seven programs, followed by Fox with 4.2 million for five programs.
According to Nielsen data, the total number of viewers watching the Top 25 TV shows in black households during the third week of July was 18.2 million.
