Flowers Comm handles first diversity summit for Major League Baseball
(July 20, 2012) Chicago-based Flowers Communications Group is managing national communications and community stakeholder outreach for the first Major League Baseball's first-of-its-kind Diversity Business Summit which takes place this week, July 24 in Chicago. The summit will connect job seekers and entrepreneurs with MLB Human Resource, Procurement and other executives throughout the industry. All 30 MLB teams from around the country will be onsite to provide opportunities for prospects interested in being suppliers or pursuing a career in baseball. The daylong event will take place at Chicago's Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and include networking, one-on-one matchmaker sessions and a reception at US Cellular field, followed by a Chicago White Sox game. "The diversity of Major League Baseball is important to Commissioner Selig on-field as well as throughout our entire business," said Wendy Lewis, Senior Vice President, Diversity & Strategic Alliances. "We are looking forward to welcoming the many talented students, professionals and business owners who will participate in this groundbreaking event."
